What is your favorite piece of jewelry you own and why? A handmade gold moon and stars pendant by Chris Van Dyke, a gemologist and jewelry designer in Asheville, North Carolina (where I lived before moving to the Lowcountry). It’s a special piece that represents myself and my two children—they are the diamond stars and I’m the moon!

Favorite piece of jewelry you have ever sold and why? My daughter’s engagement ring by Single Stone! 

What is the best thing about working on Wonderful King Street? It’s exciting to meet our customers, both local and from out of town, and help them choose jewelry to celebrate special moments in their lives!

Tell us a random fact people would be surprised to know about you: I’m an avid hiker, and once hiked 28 miles in a single day as part of the Trailblaze Challenge, a fundraiser for Make a Wish Foundation.

Tell us a surprising fact you have learned since working at Croghan’s: I’ve learned nothing is impossible at Croghan’s! We do over 500 repairs a month, on top of custom work. I never cease to be amazed at the beautiful pieces that are created on the second floor.

Tell us a funny moment at 308 Wonderful King Street that still makes you laugh out loud: I have a blast every day at work—it’s impossible to choose just one moment! Some of my favorite fun memories were over our end-of-workday cocktails during the holiday season. At Croghan’s, I feel like I’m working for the First Family of Charleston.
