Our Story
We've been on Wonderful King Street for over a Hundred years.

More than 100 years ago, William Joseph Croghan, a hand engraver and jeweler, opened his store at 308 King Street in an 18th-century Charleston Single House. While he began by occupying the side porch of our building as a long, skinny little shop, over the years, we have expanded to occupy the entire building.

Because Croghan’s has been in business for over 100 years, our customers have grown to depend on our advice and workmanship. Customers are offered a complete array of services and have access to bench jewelers and certified gemologists.

William Croghan’s granddaughters and great-grandchildren watch over the store today. While maintaining Croghan's old-world charm, their additions have been meaningful. They have introduced many exclusive products, expanded the estate and antique collections, and in 2025, relocated the store to 155 King Street.
As Charleston has grown and evolved, so too has its Jewel Box
