Charleston Rice Spoon

Item #765-1

The Charleston Rice spoon has been a tradition in the south since the first settlers arrived in the Lowcountry.  This oversized spoon was used in England as a stuffing spoon.  Because rice was a major crop, southern planters adapted its use to the serving of rice at the Charleston "two o'clock dinner".  Today the rice spoon is a symbol of southern heritage and is used on sideboards and dining tables for all dishes.

Rice spoon measures 14 inches in length.
