Marla Aaron SET 6

SET 6 is a celebration of the hallmark. We’ve been at this for a few years now, and every year it gets more exciting to share what we think makes a truly great “set” for you. This year, our focus brought us way back—to the very history of jewelry and how it was made and what it is made of, which brings us to hallmarks: the secret code of the jewelry world, waiting for you to uncover. There are five pieces in SET 6, each carrying special hallmarks–a combination of traditional marks from the Assay Office, and some that we made up like a coffee cup and a big apple, but all of them say something about who we are and where this work comes from. If jewelry’s only job is to bring people joy then hallmarking jewelry is about recording it for posterity. Not unlike our Locks—where the function, the “closure,” becomes the main event—in this SET, we’ve taken these marks (usually hidden) and enlarged them, making them the decoration itself.

The result: five pieces unique to SET 6 embossed with a mix of Hallmarks.

• A Chubby Meander Lock in Silver and Gold
• A Chubby Medium Lock in Silver
• A You’re a Nut Charm (the sole piece marked with our SET 6 mark)
• A Silver Rolling Curb Chain

And on these pieces you will find the following hallmarks, a secret language that tells you the story of the jewelry:

• MA: This is our maker’s mark
• 14k and .925: gold and silver
• A : signifying the year it was made (2025) as designated by the Assay Office
• NYC Apple: A symbol of NYC dating back to Harlem’s first jazz clubs that shapes us, and fuels some of our most unhinged behavior.
• SET 6: Codifying this particular project, appearing only on one piece: the You’re a Nut charm.

This year’s set was chosen based on its compatibility with your other pieces –
AKA the pieces in this year’s set will work with your existing Marla Aaron (and
personal) jewelry collections. We didn't make a lot. When they are gone, they are gone.
