Either is a wonderful start! The 1-pearl necklace is the classic beginning — she'll wear it as-is until enough pearls are collected to add to the strand. The 3-pearl option gives her a little more to show off right away.

We sell additional pearls by the inch and recommend collecting 10 or more before restringing. Each addition is restrung on silk cord with knots between each pearl — we charge $10 per inch for this service. Here's how many pearls you'll need for a finished necklace:

• 5mm: ~67 pearls (16") / ~75 pearls (18")
• 5.5mm: ~72 pearls (16") / ~80 pearls (18")
• 6mm: ~67 pearls (16") / ~76 pearls (18")

The final stringing is complimentary and includes a traditional clasp in yellow or white gold.

Yes! Most bracelets are 7". You'll need approximately 29–30 pearls depending on size.

Pearls are organic and porous — keep them away from perfume, lotion, hairspray, and water. Last thing on when dressing, first thing off.

We strongly recommend it. Our Akoya pearl additions are carefully matched for quality and color. Pearls sourced elsewhere may not match the completed strand.
